Following a recent trip to NYC, our CEO Anthony created these 4 new specials directly inspired by the places he visited, the amazing people and history of the bagel culture in the city.
We bring to you;
Black Seed – Inspired by the East Village bagel bar; Black Seed. They make amazing Montreal style bagels in wood-fired oven and have an awesome menu. We have taken our favourite and recreated it here for you. Smoked Trout, Boiled Egg, Rocket & Wholegrain Mustard.
Meat Packer – NYC’s infamous Meatpacking district is arguably the most fashionable district in NYC. We thought it would make a great name for another awesome Bagelman filling! Here you have our delicious Pastrami, Smoked Bacon, Roast Ham, Double Swiss and Dill Pickles
Hester Street – The famous Cuban Sandwich of the Lower East Side bagel joints is here. Roasted Ham, Pulled Pork, Swiss, Pickle & Mustard. We named it Hester Street after the NYC street which was home to the original immigrant bakeries of the Late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Conditions in these bakeries were tough, underground in stifling conditions the bakers worked long shifts to satisfy growing demand for their speciality bread. Respect to them.
Rivington Street – Along with Hester Street, Rivington was home to early immigrant Jewish communities. These days when you visit, evidence of this is hard to find, but we wanted to acknowledge their tough, hard working lives. Here is our take on our classic Lox deluxe, Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese, Tomato, Red Onion and Rocket.
